Join the Academy as it celebrates the life and remarkable career of actor, humanitarian and cultural activist Gregory Peck. A versatile actor who could play romantic charmers (Roman Holiday and Designing Woman), villains (Duel in the Sun and The Boys from Brazil), and men of great integrity (The Keys of the Kingdom and Gentleman’s Agreement), Peck was nominated five times for Best Actor, winning an Academy Award for his performance as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.
A 1967 recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, Peck is as highly regarded for his personal integrity and dedication to social and cultural activities as for his acting. The exhibit will be located in the Margaret Herrick Library’s Bob Hope Lobby and Katharine Hepburn Reading Room, and will contain photographs and manuscripts that highlight Peck’s memorable film roles as well as his activism throughout the decades and his devotion to his family.
