When I first saw To Kill A Mockingbird, after having read the superlative book, I didn’t think anyone could do Atticus Finch justice. How wrong could I be. Gregory Peck’s portrayal was wise, brave, caring and just. And then to read as I got older that the actor, too, was not dissimilar in the way he conducted himself throughout life. I never miss a chance to see one of his movies – so many interesting portrayals – but in the end it was the man who stood out most. Like his friend and co-star Audrey Hepburn, he had real class. Forever remembered.
