Gregory Peck was a true-to-life actor, no gimmicks or methods, just the real man who came through all the roles he played. My favorites include, of course, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Big Country and Duel in the Sun. The others are great too, but these are my 3 favorites. I have all 3 movies in my collection and have recommended them to others. Gregory was very versatile–he could play a mean guy, and also an honest, courageous man that all people would look up to. Anyone knows my love for Gregory and his movie roles based on how often I quote from his movies. I have learned a lot about people, honesty, character, love and civility by watching those movies. When I think of Moby Dick and The Man In The Grey Flannel Suit and Gentleman’s Agreement, I also see historically how the meaning of these movies shined through. Only Gregory Peck could make that meaning so clear and genuine.
Gregory had a wonderful life, from what I could see, and that had a lot to do with the importance he placed on people, relationships and causes.
And, I cannot go without saying, Gregory was the most handsome, kindest, honest and empathic man–just the way most of us would want their father to be, as he portrayed in To Kill A Mockingbird.
He lived a rich life, I miss him greatly, but know that he is looking down , thanking God for the gifts he was given and used to the fullest!
Love, Sharon
