Gregory Peck’s portrayal of Atticus Finch left an indelible impression on my life. From his portrayal I learned to consider how my reality was not everyone else’s and to be true to the spirit of walking in another’ shoes. I learned to respect others regardless of race, gender identity, color, religion, or country of national origin. I learned from Atticus Finch that there are fathers who love their children without qualification and who respected the importance of teaching by example. Gregory Peck brought a warmth, empathy, and a brilliant humanity to the role of Atticus Finch that shall be heralded for generations to come.
