Happy 100th Birthday Mr. Gregory Peck! I hope the Peck family is enjoying this wonderful day. He brought such a debonair charisma to the screen. From Roman Holiday to The Yearling, he made so many great movies and played so many great characters. My personal favorite, which is shared with many, is his portrayal of Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. I love his relationship with the cast, crew, and Harper Lee. He climbed inside the skin of each of his characters and walked around them like Atticus would say to do. Each of his characters were a little different, or very different, and displayed his ability to embody all kinds of people. He not only climbed inside another man’s skin in the movies, but also did so off screen when he spoke and fought for gun control and against the Vietnam War. His care for film and for humanity made him the perfect President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the recipient of the AFI Life Achievement Award. He is a true hero and is one of my personal heroes. Thank you to the entire Peck family for creating this archive and sharing it with us. Here’s to another 100 years Mr. Gregory Peck!
