Atticus, the man of my dreams

by Sharon

I fell in love with Gregory Peck/Atticus Finch when my Dad took us to see “To Kill a Mockingbird.” I was 7 years old and yet I understood the story and loved Peck’s portrayal of Atticus. When I am moved by someone’s heroism, I think of the story’s solemn tribute to its hero, “Stand-up, Miss Jean Louise, your Daddy’s passing by.” I understand the sin of shooting the mockingbird and think of it often when I see the innocent and guileless brutalized. I also loved him in Captain Newman and so many more roles. He changed my life for the better and I love him for it.
