Like many of my generation, to me Gregory Peck WAS Atticus Finch – the wisest, kindest and most loving of all fathers, as well as being an honorable man. I often wished he was my father. As I grew older and saw him in other roles – Gentleman’s Agreement, The Yearling, Roman Holiday, The Keys of the Kingdom to name a few, I formed an opinion of the actor that was, I later learned, also reflective of the man – a man of honesty and principle. He was and is one of our national treasures. I’m honored to be able to add my thoughts to this tribute to him.
