During Graduation activities at Princeton University with his daughter Cecilia, I had been talking to him and soon many people crowded me because they wanted to be introduced to him and to take their picture with him. I am not used to celebrity harassment and was a bit embarrassed. He solved it all by saying clearly and calmly: “Melba, before anything, please introduce me to your parents” and asked me to lead the way. My gratitude and admiration for this sensitive and gentle man, polite but in charge, grew even more. He had such a commanding presence, yet gentle and caring, making each of us feel like we were very special. He did make me feel special every single time I had the good fortune to meet him.
