A True Gent

by Morven

Atticus Finch is one of my favourite literary characters, and so often when you fall in love with a character in the novel, the film adaptation can be a bit of a disappointment. Gregory Peck managed to achieve the rarest of celluloid successes: a faithful and realistic portrayal of a much loved character. Not only that, but he added further dimensions to Harper Lee’s masterpiece. I will never tire of watching him in the role as the best moral compass. An amazing talent, unsurpassed. X
